When my son began elementary school eight years ago, he came home with a flyer – the Home & School Association were looking for volunteers for a bake sale. I figured, I like to bake – sign me up! It was there that I met Trish, a tiny blonde spitfire who seemed to know everyone in the place, had the organizational skills of a four star general, and was hilarious!
I became friends with Trish and her sidekick Cathy, who would call from the Dunkin’ Donuts drive thru before our bake sales, wanting to know if we wanted a coffee bigger than our heads. We had a lot of fun, and when her son graduated, we stayed in touch. She came back and continued to volunteer at the school. I can’t tell you how many times she pulled money out of her own pocket when a kid in the school couldn’t afford a field trip. She was that kind of person. When I heard over the weekend that she died on Valentine’s Day – I found it kind of fitting, she had a huge heart. Rest in peace dear friend – I’ll miss you more than you’ll know.
That is a very nice tribute to Trish, Tina! I love the pictures, as well. She will be missed!!!
Thanks Maureen.
