Iced Mocha Dalgona Coffee

Dalgona coffee is the newest hip and happening beverage of the quarantined. Think of it as a reverse cappuccino – milk on the bottom, and topped with a whipped espresso. Hoo-boy, it packs a caffeine punch, so be prepared to repaint your living room and walk the Appalacian Trail on your treadmill. All kidding aside, it is tasty and a nice treat when you’re missing a trip to your favorite coffee shop.

  • 2 tablespoons instant espresso powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons hot water
  • milk
  • chocolate syrup
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the espresso powder, sugar and hot water. With an electric mixer on high speed, beat the mixture for about 5 minutes until it’s golden in color andΒ holds stiff peaks on the beaters.
  2. Pour milk into a glass, add the chocolate syrup and stir well. Add a few ice cubes and a dollop of the whipped espresso. Stir the milk and whipped espresso together, and enjoy! Β Serves 4, any leftover espresso froth may be refrigerated.

I hate cold coffee, too, but this tastes more like a milkshake. I think that is the secret to Starbuck’s success. Hide coffee under a milkshake.

    Still no… LOL
