A drawing I recently found in a crumbling folder filled with old grade school homework. I have no idea what the context was or why I drew it. I was probably 7 or 8 years old at the time.
It was drawn on that cheap pulp paper that had a scratchy surface that would set my teeth on edge as I drew on it. I remember seeing stacks of this in the supply closets at school. It was probably bought in bulk years prior and was already yellowing at the edges. It was the all-purpose art paper. Pencil, crayon, water color — it was used for them all and took all of those mediums poorly.
I have no recollection of this drawing. I’m not sure if I did it in school. If I did, I was lucky I did not attend one of those progressive schools with a psychologist on staff.
