Faster than a Speeding Primate

it-came-from-the-SB-bannerspeeding-primateI was stumped for an idea for a Valentine this year so I sat with a sketchbook and hoped my pencil would do my thinking for me.

pencilMy favorite mechanical pencil with the fabulous 0.9mm indigo blue leads didn’t do me any favors as far as breaking through my mental Valentine block, but I kept on wasting time drawing an angry/anxious Mickey the Monkey in a hurry to get some where. It’s the procrastinator’s curse that has always dogged me. When working on an assignment, a doodle would invariably start in a corner and grow and grow until it steals the focus from the job that’s due. You should see some of the drafts for my high school term papers! Oh, well.

Tina and I do plan on returning to our funny animal romance Monkey & Bird. There’s a chapter to finish up along with other stories to tell once we clear the decks of other obligations. If you have a Flash enabled browser, you can check out our comic along with tons of other content at CO2 Comics. If you prefer your four-color funnies printed in four colors rather than pixels, analog versions of Monkey & Bird are available in a delightful mini-comic format and can be purchased HERE.

Monkey & Bird will return. I like drawing them too much!
