Jerry Blavat

I found out this morning that Jerry Blavat passed away. He was a Philadelphia DJ/institution who hosted Philly’s annual Columbus Day Parade. As a popular DJ, he was as important to Rock and Roll music as the musicians. He seemed to have boundless energy and his calendar was full of appearances whether it was a church fundraiser or a nostalgic dance party. He was everywhere, and I kept running into him whether I planned to or not! He was part of Philadelphia and it’s hard to imagine Philadelphia without him. Rest in peace Geator. More photos behind the cut.
