This is back in the days when you tried to stretch a dollar by making your belongings last. Before people started used buzzwords like renewable, recyclable, and sustainable – they would repair what they owned to save a buck. Or maybe you weren’t going to find that poncho ever again at Sears junior boutique, so the old one needed to be mended. And that’s when businesses bestowed small gifts on their customers like this package of sewing needles. Most girls I knew had mothers who sewed or home-ec, they knew how to use a needle. It advertised the company, and it was a show of good will. I consider this a gem in my sewing box!
I still carry a sewing kit in my bag on any trip! I’ve used it more than once!!!
