Mid-Century Modern Ornaments
I recently bought these plastic, vintage ornaments from my favorite South Philly antiques store. They look great when backlit with white lights!

Anise Cookies
It’s that time of year, and I’ve been experimenting with some new cookies to add to my old favorites. Bake a couple to test, and freeze the rest of the dough for a future baking session!

An Ideal Christmas Window
This once was a bakery and now it’s a private residence, but the owners never changed the front of the building. Only in South Philadelphia! The bakery in 1954.
Minestrone Soup
This minestrone soup is a hearty (and meatless) meal for a cold night. You can customize it by adding other vegetables, different beans, or pasta. Bonus is that it freezes well!
Santa Head Planter
This treasure came from my in-law’s house. My mother-in-law used it to hold Christmas cards. It was manufactured in Japan by the Samson Import Company in 1964.
