I finished up a 7-inch by 10-inch Canson XL Mixed Media Sketchbook which I turned to once I got tired of chasing down cheap sketchbooks. I have had a lot of luck with small sketchbooks, but it seems that my luck has been running out. Sometimes they were great, but lately they have been terrible. It was better to go with something I could count on. Such is the case with this Canson which worked out pretty well. Continue reading
I know Halloween is 184 days away, but being a dyed-in-the-wool horror movie fan, I always seem to be in the Halloween Spirit!
I started doing my series of Halloween Head vector illustrations almost 20 years ago with a simplified Frankenstein Monster done in Adobe Illustrator. I really started to chase down my vectorized villains and other digital designs with the release of the superlative Affinity Designer a little over ten years ago. Some of these monsters fall together fairly quickly while others are a bit of a struggle. Such is the case with The Mummy of which I have had a number of false starts. My gallery of rogues demanded an ancient Egyptian still alive over the millennia, and I think I may have finally got him.
