20 to 30 years ago it seemed like new pharmacies were being built in South Philadelphia on top of one another. Now they all seem to be closing. Recently the area lost a CVS and a Walgreens and now this Rite-Aid on South Ninth Street is in it’s death throes. The convenient corner pharmacy has become a lot less convenient because it’s now a haul to pick up prescriptions.

There is still rhubarb in the market, along with enormous raspberries – so I thought I’d shake things up and combine them in a pie. Instead of a top crust, I made a crumble topping with light brown sugar and quick cooking oats. The tartness of the rhubarb merged with the sweetness of the raspberries is delicious!
